Everlasting: Evergreen Friends and Family Support Network

How do we respond when a family member or friend says, “I’m gay?”

When those two powerful words were uttered you may have felt disbelief, confusion, concern, grief, or perhaps even shame. All these feelings are natural and even common in Latter-day Saint families dealing with this concern. You probably have a lot of questions, and while books or conferences can help, you probably want to talk with others who have faced the same challenge in their family. At the same time, you want to know that the individuals you speak with support the doctrines and standards of the Church without exception.

EVERLASTING, the Evergreen Friends and Family Support Network, was formed to offer just such an opportunity. Along with other services, Everlasting has an Internet support group that provides a safe place to express your emotions honestly without fear of condemnation. Here you can get answers to the questions you really can’t discuss with neighbors or casual friends who might not understand or respect your confidences. And most important, here is a place where you can join a faith community that appreciates the principal that loving God and trusting Him are the first steps to healing.

Learning Modules

With a full two decades of experience, Evergreen understands what the family and friends of those dealing with same-sex attractions are experiencing. The Learning modules have been designed to move interested individuals through a series of learning experiences that can bless the lives of those dealing with SSA and those who truly want to understand and support them in their righteous desires. Each year the complete series will be offered at the annual Evergreen Growth and Accountability Conference. The learning modules are also available for self-study on DVDs and an interactive presentation that allows for discussion, questions and answers are also presented as Internet Webinars throughout the year.

Lighthouse: Women's Online Support Network

This is an online forum exclusively for women who wish to overcome unwanted feelings of same-gender attraction (SGA). The purpose of this group is to provide a means of communication, support, and relief from isolation for it's members. Membership is by invitation only - access by the general public will not be allowed.

As a member, you agree to adhere to a policy of strict confidentiality in regards to disclosing identities of all other members. In addition, anything posted on this site cannot be reproduced for personal use without the written consent of the author. While frank and honest discussion is encouraged, the intent of messages posted here should be to support, educate, encourage, and edify one another. The participants of this forum believe that the atonement of Jesus Christ enables every soul the opportunity to turn away from all sins or conditions that obstruct their temporal and eternal happiness and potential. We attest that individuals can overcome homosexual behavior and can diminish same-gender attraction, and are committed to assisting those who wish to do so. This forum sustains the doctrines and standards of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints without reservation or exception, but is not affiliated with the Church. We welcome all women who wish to participate in the pursuit of these goals regardless of religious affiliation.

The moderators present topics of discussion or lessons on a regular basis. They are always open to thoughts and suggestions concerning NEW LEAF or LIGHTHOUSE.
