Evergreen Update Newsletters

Update 2007-08-09: A story that appeared in the Church News on Saturday, July 21, 2007 entitled "Their lives' roads paved with sorrow: Men dealing with same-sex attraction share their stories."

Update 2007-07-27: A story that appeared in the Deseret News on July 27, 2007 "LDS leaders speak out on same-sex attraction: Pamphlet attempts to clarify stance on issue" about the new Church pamphlet God Loveth His Children.

Update 2007-07-04: Story from WorldNetDaily that describes a leader in the gay rights movement who says God liberated him from homosexuality.

Update 2007-05-11: Focus on the Family's Web-based magazine for college students, Boundless, recently featured the stories of two Christians who detail their own struggle to reconcile their spirituality with their sexuality.

Update 2007-05-02: On May 1-2, PBS broadcast a four-hour special "The Mormons." This newsletter contains the transcript of an interview with Elder Jeffrey R. Holland on the subject of homosexuality.

Update 2007-03-16: Exodus International issued a press release in response to the Montel Williams show that aired today entitled "HOMOSEXUALITY…CAN IT BE CURED?"

Update 2006-10-02: How to Get the Message Out. In several of the workshops at the 2006 Evergreen Annual Conference, the question was discussed about how to get out the word about Evergreen. Several ideas and experiences were shared that may be of help to you.

Update 2006-04-17: Pro-family groups today defended the ex-gay movement and the truth that homosexuals can change against a broadside assault launched Thursday by the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force (NGLTF).

Update 2006-04-06: Gay Issues and Public Schools. In 2005, 14 high schools in the Salt Lake area had Gay Straight Alliances. There are many in all cities across the country. This newsletter contains information that may be helpful to you:

Update 2006-01-01: As you set your new year's resolutions, you may want to consider one of the following programs that many have found helpful, such as Sports Programs, Adventure in Manhood, Journey Into Manhood, and Sexual Addiction Recovery programs.

Update 2005-11-30: Swedish Court Acquits Pastor Ake Green. For the first time, a nation has passed judgment on whether the biblical position on homosexuality constitutes hate speech. In a 5-0 decision, the Swedish Supreme Court today acquitted Pastor Ake Green of charges he committed a hate crime by preaching a sermon that condemned homosexuality.

Update 2005-11-22:"The Battle Over Gay Teens" was the cover story of Time magazine on Oct. 10, 2005. This newsletter summarizes points from the article.
